AXIAL-CORE
AXIAL-CORE is an immersive audiovisual installation by LEO PUM operating between orbital infrastructure, ballistic systems, and synthetic organisms. Through truss structures, motorized lighting, LED panels, exposed cabling, fog, and multichannel audio, the piece transforms space into an active transmission system where light, sound, and architecture synchronize as a single entity.
Its radial structure evokes mechanical wings or chimeric prosthetics, suggesting the presence of a biomechanical device suspended between machine, aerospace infrastructure, and dreamlike robotic beast. Inspired by sound system culture, rave aesthetics, and video game soundtracks such as Shadow of the Colossus, AXIAL-CORE constructs a sensory environment based on sonic pressure, atmospheric density, and luminous control.
The project’s technical direction was developed alongside Marco Ferreira, while the sonic atmosphere, “Ballistic Angel”, created by Diego V. Navarro, brings an epic and contemplative dimension to the installation.
AXIAL-CORE es una instalación audiovisual inmersiva de LEO PUM que opera entre infraestructura orbital, sistemas balísticos y organismos sintéticos. A través de estructuras truss, iluminación motorizada, paneles LED, cableado expuesto, niebla y audio multicanal, la pieza transforma el espacio en un sistema activo de transmisión donde luz, sonido y arquitectura se sincronizan como una sola entidad.
Su estructura radial evoca alas mecánicas o prótesis quiméricas, generando la presencia de un dispositivo biomecánico situado entre máquina, infraestructura aeroespacial y bestia robótica onírica. Inspirada en la cultura sound system, la estética rave y bandas sonoras de videojuegos como Shadow of the Colossus, AXIAL-CORE construye un entorno sensorial basado en presión sonora, densidad atmosférica y control lumínico.
La dirección técnica del proyecto ha sido desarrollada junto a Marco Ferreira, mientras que la atmósfera sonora “Ángel Balístico”, creada por Diego V. Navarro, aporta una dimensión épica y contemplativa a la instalación.
